The Willamette Valley is the top destination for the vino-happy masses—come Friday expect Highway 99W gridlock and purple-lipped revelry to ensue. This year, under-the-radar wine lovers can get a glassful with less hassle by visiting the "Wineries of Washington County," a cadre of 14 family-owned operations, including Cooper Mountain and SakeOne (OK, the Forest Grove outfit makes rice wine, but still...) for their special events. Visit willamettewines.com for a list of participating wineries and directions. Most wineries open 11 am-5 pm Friday-Sunday, Nov. 23-35. Tasting prices vary. Visit comeplayyourway.com for details on the wineries of Washington County. |
