[April 12th, 2006] Not only has Eastside wine-bar fave Noble Rot officially opened for lunch , but now co-owner Kimberly Bernosky is set on spicing up St. Johns too. Look for her new restaurant project, No Baloney , featuring the work of cured meat-obsessed Rot chefs Leather Storrs and Jeremy Gresham, this fall. >> Speaking of expanding empires, Paley's Place chef-owner Vitaly Paley is bringing his PaleyBar , an organic, locally sourced (yadda-yadda...) energy bar, to Whole Foods Market . Foodie weekend warriors and vegan bike kids alike squeal with joy. >> Apparently all publicity is good publicity, even if it's somebody else's: In the two weeks since it opened, Caribbean restaurant Callaloo has already garnered top restaurant accolades—from WW's 2003 Restaurant Guide and The Oregonian's 2004 Dining Guide . Huh? When pestered by WW, Callaloo co-owner Kevin Peck , who's also the co-owner of Hillsdale sweet spot Capitol Coffeehouse and Bistro , claimed not to have noticed the two local dining-guide stickers, left on the window by previous tenant Bistro Casanis. Oops!
