[August 23rd, 2006] Cheers to Sellwood-area winos: Frenchies Didier Sudre and Frederic Raclot recently opened Vinideus Wine Store at 8317 SE 13th Ave. "Vini means wine and deus means god," explains Bordeaux native Sudre, who worked as a wine merchant overseas before moving to P-town. The pair's excited to flaunt "little-known French and hard-to-find Northwest wines" at the shop, including a pinot gris and not-so-sweet riesling from Crow, Ore., winery Sweet Cheeks . Vinideus is the lone store in Portland to carry it—so far. >> Eat it, Limey! In the latest Details mag's rock-fashion supplement, English rockers the Editors bitch about food in the States and pine for British tea and their "mums." But a look at the story's glossy photos reveals the band had no problem chowin' at downtown's Taqueria Villanueva cart and Voodoo Doughnut (officially the most overreported snack shack in town) when they played Dante's last April. America has good fish and chips—can you find a decent taco in the U.K.? Didn't think so.
