44 Keepin’ It Kosher

Polka dots aren’t just for tween girls anymore. L.A.-based clothing company Orthodox brings the otherwise cutesy print to the men’s section with this lightweight, muted T-shirt ($58, Local 35, 3556 SE Hawthorne Blvd., 963-8200) featuring a variety of blended grays. Still feel like the dots are a questionable buy? Bring out the manly man in you with Hecklewood’s thick-cut flannel hoodie ($145, Hecklewood, 2431 NW Thurman St., 922-1797), constructed from 100 percent pure virgin Pendleton wool. With its lumberjack-palette-meets-hipster-fit, this jacket is a limited edition cut-and-sew, reserved to only 48 pieces worldwide.

45 No Sweat

Worn as a sweater or a sweater-dress, this cream-colored Corpus cowlneck ($155, Local 35 ) is as form-fitting as it is comfortable. Layer on this menswear-inspired Tulle vest ($59, Sloan Boutique, 740 NW 23rd Ave., 222-6666 ) for another dimension—its Peter Pan collar and boxy hem add sweet details.

46 A-Ten-Hut!

Top any ensemble off with Pinkham Millinery’s soldier cap ($225, Pinkham Millinery, 515 SW Broadway, 796-9385 ). Local hat-making visionary Dayna Pinkham makes each one fit-to-order and available in a variety of colors. This versatile felt accessory brings it all together with sophisticated funk.

47 Coast to Coast

Man-boys have never had it so good. Look polished without sacrificing skater-boy sensibilities wearing L.A.-brand Modern Amusement’s gray-and red-stripedhoodie ($160, Local 35) underneath San Francisco-based B.Son’s fleece waxed pea coat ($495, Local 35) .

48 So Hot Right Now

Note to all redheaded guys: Teal looks fantastic on you. Rock it from the neck up in this so soft and cozy cashmere Vince Scarf ($130, Moule, 1225 NW Everett St., 227-8530) . Or pair it with Brown Sound’s military-esque stripedblazer ($175, Local 35) for that “you know I look good” look.

49 Got Wood?

Local designers Hecklewood have brought some sweet new game to the clothing racks. In addition to their bright screenprinted T-shirts, they’ve just launched a cut-and-sew collection of contemporary urban overcoats. Mix this fitted black field jacket made from authentic Carhartt material ($170, Hecklewood) with Modern Amusement’s charcoal pinstripe button-down ($120, Local 35) for a relaxed, stylish vibe.

50 Retail Therapy

The problem: dressing for the holidays without looking like a shoddy ornament. The solution: This satin crepe olive dress ($370, Moule) . Gentle, fluttering sleeves, a sheer neckline and delicate pleats throughout offer understated glitz.

51 Here’s the Skinny

Modern Amusement breathes new life into the printed dress shirt with this Blackout button-down ($120, Local 35) . Three-dimensional navy and white graphic cubes with red detailing serve as an expressive backdrop for Yoko Devereaux’s solid black, skinny fleece tie ($50, Local 35) .

52 Get on Da’ Train

Chicago-based designers Eskell have a keen eye for refined, modernized ’50s staples. The girly yet muted silk Geneva blouse ($268, Le Train Bleu, 748 NW 11th Ave., 343-5140 ) blends cascading ruffles, metallic-studded buttons and a sweet cupid’s-arrow print. Cinch in the frills with the Ashby trousers ($303, Le Train Bleu). An ultra-sophisticated twist on high-waisted sailor pants, this cuffed black version, also by Eskell , flaunts six parallel center buttons and a whole lot of curve.

53 Do You Have an Accent?

Let your winter coat perform double duty: keeping you warm and dressing you up. This knee-length gray number by L.A.-based Bizz Princess ($89, Sloan Boutique), featuring a bejeweled neckline and a swinging, flattering cut, is key. Because, yeah, donning his coat is sweet, but not when you’re years away from prom night.

Gimme More

Paper Or Plastic? Neither:

This handy set of Envirosax ($34.50, Cheeky B, 906 NW 14th Ave., 274-0229) features five colorful, reusable shopping bags that can be rolled into a single pouch small enough for your glove box. Besides, we’re pretty sure you have as many Safeway bags crumpled up under your kitchen sink as you’ll ever need.

Flippin’ Out:

The accessory creatives behind local company Entermodal are launching a Portland exclusive in the form of premium leather card/bill holders. The sleek flip cases ($150, Canoe, 1136 SW Alder St., 889-8545) come in three colors: cognac, black and slate.

Ahhhhh!

Monster Tees ($24-$26.50, Union Rose, 2023 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 287-4242) by Dishy Duds are simply American Apparel-brand T-shirts with awesome monster faces on them for the kids. Ten percent of proceeds go to humanitarian missions in the Darfur region of Sudan.

Splish-splash:

Make bath time even more exciting with the Happy Treat! ($19.95, Lush, 803 NW 23rd Ave., 228-5874) , which includes a stars-and-sparkles bath bomb, green shower jelly and a foaming bubble bar. The Ice Box ($64.95, Lush) is a cool, calming collection of best-selling soaps and creams, and even comes with mint-infused foot lotion for that icy witch you love so much.

A Little Birdie Told Me…

The husband-and-wife team behind Massachusetts-based Figs and Ginger hand-smithed the Elliot Necklace ($65, Tender Loving Empire, 1720 NW Lovejoy St., 243-5859, tenderlovingempire.com) : a sweet sterling bird perched on a branch, always there keeping you company.

Hoof It!:

Break out your DIY chops and sew your own pair of shoes with Simple’s latest green, cushy creation: Stitch It Moccasins ($65, Baddoll Shoes, 1639 NW Marshall St., 827-7800) . The kit comes with written directions, an instructional video, suede uppers (in bright red, muted olive or neutral sand) crepe rubber outsoles, jute laces, needles and thread. Sew many shoes, so little time!

20/20 Style:

The local and über-stylish optical gurus behind Amy Sacks are sporting some fab new frames this season. The Bamboo Eyewear Collection ($155-$210, 510 NW 23rd Ave., 274-0410, amysacks.com) flaunts four new styles that combine earthy colors (such as “takeh tempura” and “masa moss”) with clean lines, making for effortless, green urban design.

Hammer Time:

Working with vibrant stones and hammered metalwork, Portland’s Minoux Jewelry Design creates adornments that are all about shape and simplicity. Necklaces and earrings ($40-$90, minouxjewelry.com) fashioned from turquoise, quartz, chalcedony, garnet and jade are fancifully designed, right down to their handmade clasps.

Headcase:

Who knew cilantro could do wonders for your bedhead? Treat your cutie to a holiday sleepover at the ever-fashionable Ace Hotel (from $95, 1022 SW Stark St., 228-2277) and grab some of NYC-based Malin+Goetz’s cilantro-infused shampoo and conditioner ($22 each), exclusively at the Ace’s mini gift shop.
