DiPrima Dolci

BY WW EDITORIAL STAFF | 503-243-2122

[March 19th, 2008] Step into this airy Italian bakery and cafe and feel your jaw drop at the captivating array of hearty, crusty breads and pretty pastries. Handwritten menu descriptions make every item sound delicious, but the staff is happy to make recommendations. The spinach, pine-nut and feta torta ($7.25) is arranged on a luscious crust. The Papa D sandwich ($8.75), which layers three varieties of salami, is a testament to the power of simple ingredients in harmony. Stop in Saturdays to bite into a slice of Sicilian-style pizza, starting at $3.50. And the cannoli ($2.25-$4)—ahh, the cannoli—well, we didn’t rate it the best in the city for nothing (“Cravings: Cannoli,” WW, Oct. 3, 2007). (LA)

1936 N Killingsworth St., 283-5936. Breakfast and lunch daily, early dinner Tuesday-Friday.
