How Bazaar

[December 3rd, 2003] It's that time of year when the Look mailbox fills to bursting with perky pink postcards, each one advertising a holiday bazaar displaying the goods of local artists and designers.

And really, why not buy your gifts here? Your much-deserved ducats will stay in the community, and the support will enable local creative folk to keep stitching and beading. Think of it as your charitable contribution to Portland's fashion future. Now, get out there and spend, spend, spend!

The Phunhouse Holiday Sale

Eight artists, all from North and Northeast Portland, join fiber artist/store owner Peggy Flynn for another one of her outrageous sales and the inauguration of her brand-new showroom. See handmade items (many under $20) from local creative crafters, including Lisa Onstad, Kelly Pergande, Christy Eugenis and Victoria Christen.

Glitter on Glisan

Seven local artists team up for their fourth annual bazaar of one-off gifts. Find Jennifer Doheny's Urban Bird illustrated greeting cards, paper lanterns by Helen Hiebert, Jennifer Loring's handmade candles, leather guitar straps and watchbands by Allison Roller, and other clever oddments.

Riches at Rimsky's

Now in its second year, Riches brings together 11 women artists showcasing original art, clothing, jewelry, papercrafts, glass, journals and more, more, more. Rimsky's will also be hosting a mini-boutique every Friday evening from 8 to 11 from now until Christmas.

Handmade Holiday Bazaar

The Holiday Bobble

This small art collective meets once a year to offer up arty gifts--including crocheted hats, purses, ceramic and Latino crafts--for less than 50 bucks.

Super Elf Holiday Trunk Show

Johnny Schultz will show his eclectic handbags and shirts, Cloacine lays out jewelry, and Lydia Pagett and Mike King team up on lady T-shirts.

Lisa Bauso's photographic survey of found objects will be the backdrop for this upstairs gallery sale at the popular Alberta shoe store. Giant Dwarf's Handmade Bazaar
