[April 25th, 2007] Dog lovers, breathe easy: Local cheesemongers Foster & Dobbs (2518 NE 15th Ave., 284-1157, fosteranddobbs.com) are doin' their part to keep local pups melamine-free. Owners Luan Schooler and Tim Wilson recently partnered with local biz Magic Snacks to create organic, grain-free dog biscuits that feature the shop's cheese scraps, from farmhouse cheddar to Oregon's Juniper Grove goat cheese, depending on the batch ($4 for a 5 ounce bag). We'll say it: lucky dogs.

We've finally heard word that upscale Italian house Pinocchio's , located downtown right across the street from the Wednesday Farmers Market, will open Thursday, May 3, with Nelia Serapion , most recently the senior sous chef at the Heathman, in the kitchen. Visit the restaurant's bizarro Mona Lisa-with-a-woody website pinocchiobarandrestaurant.com for details.
