Juicy, Every First and Third Friday

[DANCY PARTY!] Juicy has only existed for six months, but in that time, the Rotture-based dance night has amassed a grip of fans that regularly bring the inner-Southeast club to capacity. The secret to the night's success? "We don't just play hip-hop and club hits," says DJ Rad! (a.k.a. Juicy founder Conrad Loebl). "We mix everything from Joy Division to the Misfits...I dropped some Pixies last Friday." The night's rotating cast of DJs includes hip-hop favorite (and past placer in WW's Best New Band poll) DJ Beyonda, as well as DJs (deep breath) Sew Whut, Ninjah, Automaton, Linoleum and Solomon. This week, Loebl brings a special Saturday show to Juicy: vocoder-happy R&B throwback artist Chromeo and remix-heavy party starters Flosstradamus. In honor of the party, WW asked Rad! to share his favorite summer jams. .

Kid Sister, "Control": "She's insane. She's like 20 or 21 maybe. It's just bananas, dance-y electro stuff."

Kia Shines, "Crispy": "He's gonna be huge. Neptunes/Clipse-style beats with really smooth vocals about shoes and clothes.

Flosstradamus, "Yeah Yeah (remix)" (original by electro-pop duo Matt and Kim): "Yeah, that Matt and Kim. [Flosstradamus] remixed it and put electro dance beats behind it. Yeah yeah."

Crime Mob, "Stilettos (Pumps)": "They've put out four singles in the last two or three months, and that's my favorite."

Yo Majesty, "Club Action": "Crazy thick black girls getting buck. They're like hipster kids, total club rap stuff."

Q. Lazzarus, "Goodbye Horses": "A good throwback that kids have been losing their minds to. It was released very, very limited on 12-inch, then, randomly, on the Married to the Mob soundtrack. Good luck finding it on vinyl."

Justice, "D.A.N.C.E.": "You drop it and [the kids] freak out."

Bonde Do Role "Solta O Frango": "Crazy booty-bass beats with Portuguese and Brazilian drums. It's super-heavy."

Lil Momma, "Lipgloss": "The beat alone is just insane. It's pretty much like this year's 'Hollaback Girl.' But this girl is like 19 and slick as fuck...and raps about lip gloss."

DJ Blaqstarr, the whole Superstar 12-inch: "Every song on that record is good. We usually play at least one of those."

And anything by Chromeo is a throwback; it totally blows up.
