We asked some of the mayoral candidates (we had a different question last week for the others): How many of your 12 opponents can you name? Results were so poor we generously gave credit for knowing a first or last name.

David Ackerman: (3) “Sam Adams, um—that guy from that travel agency, Shoe something, and there’s that Craig guy.”

Sam Adams: (5) “That is really cruel [Laughs]. OK. Sho Dozono. Um. Taylor—Jeff Taylor. Christopher. Um. Beryl. Um. Oh. Um. Humble.… Has anyone done better? The young fellow’s name, with the dark hair.… Mercy! Uncle!”

Kyle Burris: (4) “Jim Madigan [sic], Sam Adams, Sho Dozono, Craig Gier, um—Jeff Taylor, I think. Damn, um. Then there’s the two black ladies and the black guy. That sounds really bad, doesn’t it?”

Sho Dozono : (6) “Adams, Kyle Burris. Do I have to give first and last names? Beryl McNair. Chris Rich. Robert something. What’s the guy’s name? With the sign. It’s like—lemme pick the next one.… Chester or Charles [sic] Lee?”

Bob Forthan: (3) “Sam Adams. Then you got the Sho…someone named Beverly [sic] McNair. That’s all you read about in The Oregonian. If I get elected we’re gonna have two newspapers.”

Beryl McNair: (6) “OK. John [sic] Adams, Sho Dozono, Bob Forthran [sic]. Um. Rich. Gier. Myself. And Lewis.”

Patricia Stuart: (7) “I know them by their first names. Greg—Craig, rather. Kyle. James Lee. Sho Dozono. Sam Adams. Beryl McNair.”
