Gift Guide 2008 Volume 2

BY BEN WATERHOUSE | bwaterhouse at wweek dot com

[December 10th, 2008]

But wait, there’s more! The great gifts in the first volume of this year’s Gift Guide were just the start of December’s festival of covetousness. We’re back with more goodies for you, your family, your friends and your cat. We’ve also got some help for your holiday party outfit, dinner and drinks.

But before you swill, dine and dance your snappily dressed self into a solstice stupor, take a moment to share with the less fortunate—you know, sick people, homeless kids, stray dogs, that sort of thing. Head to Willamette Week’s Give!Guide at giveguide.oaktree.com by Dec. 31 to donate to one of 55 great local charities. If you give $25, we’ll give you all sorts of great swag.

And we’ve got one more way to give and get: WW’s second annual holiday music compilation is out Dec. 12, with 15 new and old Christmas and Hanukkah songs by local artists including Boy Eats Drum Machine, Chris Funk, Laura Gibson and Dolorean. It’s just $10, and all proceeds benefit p:ear’s work with homeless youth. Pick up a copy at WW’s offices, wweek.com, or Tender Loving Empire (1720 NW Lovejoy St., 243-5859).

Happy Holidays! —Ben Waterhouse
