Bartender’s choice: I’m sure my bartender said something funny, but it’s so damn loud in here!Ah, Berbati’s Pan, the Costco of downtown bars! What looks like a big box form the outside, though, usually amounts to a solid night out (hints of Greek and nautical themes successfully distract from the building’s generally clumsy architecture). If your money is gone after a night at Berbati’s, the venue’s very serious pool and pinball sharks are the most likely culprit, not its reasonably priced Greek menu or suitably stiff mixed drinks. On live-music evenings (and most of them are), one can jump back and forth between a great show and a great conversation on the two distinctive sides of the club. Or you can just get drunk and watch ’80s music videos on the huge projection screen. HAPPY HOUR, DJ, LIVE MUSIC, FOOD/DRINK SPECIALS, OUTDOOR SEATING, TV, VIDEO POKER, GAMES. (CJ)

Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Golden Triangle, Danava
[PUNKY PUPPETS] It’s hard to imagine a cooler couple than Quintron & Miss Pussycat. Mr. Q has been creating his own brand of synth-based robotic rock for over a decade. He’s even invented a real robot musician called the "Drum Buddy" and an accompanying demonstration record (so you can buy your own Buddy and learn how to use him). Quintron’s partner in crime, Miss Pussycat, creates musical performance-art puppet shows of her own. The two survived Hurricane Katrina together, though most of their belongings sadly did not. Applaud these sexy nerds, and help them rebuild their fortune. NATHAN CARSON. Berbati's Pan 9 pm. $10 advance, $12 day of show. 21+.

Legendary Pink Dots
[SLIPPERY PSYCHEDELIA] Seems to me this long-running psychedelic group has finally lived up to its name. Over the course of 30 years (with an equal number of albums and lineup changes to its credit), Edward Ka-Spel's band has morphed from experimental to folk to industrial to ambient with a surprising deftness and fluidity. The band's latest release, Plutonium Blonde, is a bit of an amalgam of all of those genres, lending itself a slightly schizophrenic, but infinitely listenable, tone. With so much in their back catalog to choose from, I can only imagine Legendary Pink Dots' live show will venture all over the map and then some. ROBERT HAM. Berbati's Pan 9 pm. $15 advance, $18 day of show. 21+.
