[ACID HAZE] With jam bands, the hype always starts before the media attention. That is, in spite of this listing, local fans of Sound Tribe Sector 9 have had their calendars marked for months, eagerly anticipating the chance to drop a tab and lose their minds amid the electronic melodies. From Atlanta by way of Santa Cruz, STS9 has been a festival mainstay for almost 10 years, sharing stages with a diverse list of acts as long as your arm. This time it’s California hip-hop duo Blackalicious (whose label, Quannum Projects, reps local outfit Livesavas) for an odd juxtaposition that will no doubt bring heady ravers and rap fans under the same roof.
