WAIT ALL YOU WANT
Pearls, computers, snowboards and diver's watches are supreme gifts, but chances are your wallet allows for only one or two such extravagances. To complement last week's "$35 and Up" gift guide, we offer a resource that's more like a Trader Joe's flier than the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog. There are plenty of deals in Portland. In our hunt for presents priced under $35, we came across irresistible $3 bug rings, big bags of festively flavored popcorn at $4.50 apiece, the requisite black cardigan for $28, a $30 aromatherapy pedicure, flannel sheets for under $20 and a $19.99 coffee press fit for the trail. Don't worry about waiting until the last minute to shop. With this guide in hand, you can procrastinate all you want and still avoid buying loser gifts out of desperation. And they'll never know that those unique bicycle-gear bookends weren't your idea.
