Over the years, several Portland Trail Blazers have made our roster of Rogues, but we never figured Damon Stoudamire would stoop to their ranks. The Portland native, however, made our list after violating two club rules last week.

First, as coach Mike Dunleavy announced last week, Stoudamire was fined $5,000 for violating a clause in his contract barring him from engaging in dangerous off-court activities. (Stoudamire was caught on a 12-foot ladder, cleaning gutters for an elderly neighbor.) Second, the star guard was three minutes late for Friday's practice. (Stoudamire was detained by a fire drill at an elementary school where he reads to special education classes.)

Stoudamire apologized for the transgressions and insisted he'll shape up. But in the NBA, promises are cheap. Stoudamire is more than just a role model, he's also a professional basketball player. It's time he started acting like one.*
