The council, part of the National Institutes of Health, helps steer funds to medical research. 2. Computer-savvy fans of frontier expeditions are in for a treat. As a supplement to its documentary on the Lewis & Clark trek, PBS has launched a new Web site (www.pbs.org/lewisandclark) that includes maps, calendars, journal entries and interviews with historians. The Dec. 1 issue of Business Week raved about the site, calling it a "history buff's dream." 3. Linda Peters isn't getting a free ride in next spring's Democratic primary after all. Portland lawyer David Wu, who also has his sights set on the 1st Congressional District, has picked up the endorsement of two folks who dropped out of the race: state Sen. Joan Dukes and state Rep.
