Cheap Eats 2008

Vita boasts a comfy neighborhood vibe and a tantalizing range of dishes, from classic American diner fare to savory ethnic plates. While a few healthy meat options are offered, the kitchen specializes in thoughtfully conceived veggie/vegan fare. Enjoy the best of both worlds with hearty mimics like the “chicken” fried steak ($8), “fish” and chips ($7.50) and the cheese “steak” sandwich ($7.50) loaded with housemade seitan. Bring the tots for $1 dining every day from 5-7 pm, and enjoy your soups, salads, pastas with a side of community support: Vita Cafe pledges to donate 1 percent of sales to local social and environmental groups.
