For more than 10 years, the band has maintained and perfected an addicting sound based in Afrobeat and Latin funk rhythms. At worst, it is the best cover band in the lower 48, including all Las Vegas casino bands. It has been known to dedicate entire shows to the illest bands the funk universe has ever known. Last time the Motet played Portland, it was an exclusive Earth, Wind and Fire set. Last year, it was all Talking Heads, and this fall the band played a Parliament-Funkadelic tribute show.
