[VITAMIN D-LITE] If there ever was an indie-rap success story, it’s L.A.’s Living Legends. The band has sold hundreds of thousands of albums with no help from the recording-industry powers that be. Founding member the Grouch just left the group in June, but he’s teamed up with current member Eligh to bring their sunny rhymes to the Northwest. Typical lyrical subjects include grandmothers, keeping your head up and, more recently, going “All In”—whether that means staying committed to the rap game or, as in that song’s video, hustling a poker star out of her money. Though some of their more recent tracks (“All In” included) tend toward the annoyingly catchy, they might brighten up your winter if you’re the kind of person who needs or wants cheering up.
