Three-Person Show

RICHARD SPEER
Saturday November 24
Froelick Gallery
714 NW Davis St.

Walking through Froelick’s three November shows is an exercise in peripatetic pastiche. First, in the front gallery, you encounter Ronna Neuenschwander’s self-consciously precious porcelain sculptures. In the middle, Kevin Kadar’s oil-painted nudes hold forth with simplified lines and conspicuous penises. Finally, in the back gallery, Stephen O’Donnell offers arch self-portraits depicting himself in drag and in Victorian-style military regalia, complete with monocle, as if he had stepped out of a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. Through Dec. 15.
