[JAMGRASS] Look, I'm normally not one to advocate for jam bands. But New Year’s Eve isn't a normal evening, and I can totally see the appeal of attending a Railroad Earth gig to celebrate the end of 2012. Playing in a panoply of string-based musical styles—bluegrass, Celtic music, traditional American folk—the New Jersey band makes the perfect soundtrack for a night of warm feelings produced by excessive whiskey drinking. And generally speaking, most bands can't reasonably stretch a set past midnight. These boys will probably keep playing well into the first hours of 2013. Plus, their banjo-and-fiddle rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" will be bitching. Don't get me wrong, this isn't where I'm spending my evening. But I won't judge if that's your plan.

Comedy Central has proclaimed him the funniest man on Twitter (“Doughnuts are gay bagels”), but Delaney is pretty funny live, too, with plenty of pathos alongside the outlandish bits.
