When WW reviewed alpine restaurant Grüner back in 2010, we found it to be authentic, all too authentic. But a New Year’s trip to Grüner, complete with winter jewel salad with blood orange and beets, spätzle, wine-braised lamb shank and of course toasty schnapps, conjures images of sweaters and ski lodges against a sweeping backdrop of Mont Blanc. Speaking of Switzerland’s most famous mountain, Grüner’s take on the classic dessert will be a mound of chestnut mousse, bittersweet chocolate and cream. The prix-fixe menu is adaptable to any dietary restrictions.
