RICHARD SPEER
Thursday January 31
Butters
520 NW Davis St., 2nd floor

Margaret Evangeline is best known for taking rifles and shotguns to a firing range, aiming them at powder-coated metal panels, and riddling the panels with bullet holes. Although these visually and conceptually dramatic pieces put her on the map, it’s a lesser-known body of work that will be exhibited in this show: mixed-media watercolors. It will be intriguing to see whether they can approach the theatrical intensity of the gunshot works. Also appearing in the group exhibition are artists Mariella Bisson, David Geiser, Anne Raymond, Rick Stare and David Price. Jan. 3-Feb. 2.
