Nothing can hold a space in our subconscious like a voice. In her new book, Let Me Clear My Throat, Elena Passarello explores how the sounds we make shape who we are. Through a series of essays, Passarello touches on everything from Howard Dean’s “BYAH!” and Marlon Brando’s “Stella!” to the recording of Johnny B. Goode on the Voyager spacecraft.
