Uli Jon Roth, Stone Senate, Witch Mountain, Holy Grove

ROBERT HAM
8 pm., Wednesday February 27 | $18 advance, $20 day of show.
Hawthorne Theatre
1507 SE César E. Chávez Blvd.

[GUITAR GOD] Uli Jon Roth had his work cut out for him back in 1974 when he replaced guitar dynamo Michael Schenker in Scorpions. He was more than ready for the task, though. Just listen to the screaming leads and psychedelic atmospherics he brought to albums like In Trance and Virgin Killer. It’s been ages since Roth has been a part of the Scorps fold, but he has kept plenty busy. He’s released a dozen albums of his interpretations of classical greats and helped design 30-fret guitars that can sound like violin if played just so.
