Gary Boswell’s collages and drawings are all over the place, but his Automatic Painting series might be the best artwork up in Portland this month. In suave tones of black, white and gray, he allows the materials in his tempera monoprints to seep, weep and slide around the picture plane. The resulting forms resemble stalactites, tendriled plants and ultrasound imagery. Glamorous and vaguely sinister, they exude confidence and polish. Through March 3.
