[EARTHEN POP] I saw Efterklang in the electronica section of my local record store the other day and felt sympathy for such a placement. To classify the highly melodic Danish troop’s sound would require years of further study. What is known about Casper Clausen’s intrepid group is that pop can be found anywhere, from rural found sounds to the clatter of big municipal gatherings. Like a child on his first field trip, Efterklang processes such inspiration beautifully, creating a grandiose brand of pop that feels so close to home we can’t believe we haven’t heard it before.
