After a scintillating and successful 2009 venture into the resurgent world of Baroque opera with La Calisto, PO and PBO resume their productive collaboration in the ideally intimate venue of Newmark Theatre with a welcome revival of the 1711 opera that made George Frederic Handel a star in England. This new production of his magnificent Christians vs. Saracens sword and sorcery epic, Rinaldo, features a stellar cast of the company’s top studio artists and some of the most beautiful tunes of the Baroque era, conducted byGary Thor Wedow.
