[AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!] At the same damn time! At the same damn time! At the same damn time! At the same…oh, sorry. Whenever anyone brings up Atlanta trap rapper Future, the phrase pops into my head and refuses to leave. The MC rode those five words to minor stardom (and a relationship with Ciara) last year via the spare, clattering single “Same Damn Time” (what else would you call it?), which appeared on his first official studio album, Pluto. Blogs loved it, celebrating Future’s ability to take simple, half-sung raps about partying and drug-slanging and infusing them with a fresh, modern energy. I don’t know if it holds up over the course of a full record, or if it truly stands out from the hundreds of other artists working in the same lane right now, but that single is an infectious monster. Now, if you’ll excuse me: At the same damn time! At the same damn time…!
