[HELL OR HIGH WATER FOLK] The Water Tower is under construction. We’re not talking about your typical touch-up, either, but the kind that tears down the walls and rebuilds the structure from scratch, this time with a more punk-bent direction. Once an old-time bluegrass and folk outfit, Water Tower is trading upright bass for an electric bass while affixing Matthew Elliot on drums and Peter Daggatt on mandolin. It’s not the most surprising renovation, given the local band has gone through multiple lineup changes over the years, but the added percussion and the Dylan-gone-electric approach leaves us wondering how the hootenanny will be reincarnated in its broadened form.
