Chappo, Yours, the Lower 48, Slim Fortune

[DANCE ROCK] In 2010, Apple essentially launched Chappo’s career with an iPod commercial. At the time, the Brooklyn-based band only had an EP to its name, with no label or management backing it. The song, “Come Home,” combines foot-tapping acoustic and electric guitars with infectious falsettos perfect for grabbing a listener’s attention. The good thing is, Chappo has the talent and versatility to outlast the instant commercial success of one track. On Moonwater—the band’s first full-length album released last year—the quartet parades a quirky melting pot of sounds, from tribal chants to ’80s synths to psychedelic rock signifiers. With the addition of Portland’s Yours, the Lower 48 and Slim Fortune, tonight’s lineup will be a fantastic mix of energy and oddity.
