To complement its production of The Taming of the Shrew, Portland Shakespeare Project presents a staged reading of John Fletcher’s play, which was written—likely in the early 1600s—as a sequel to the Bard’s comedy. The Tamer Tamed finds that Kate, the shrew, has died, and Petruchio now has a wife even more ornery than the first. In a turning of the tables, the women now tame the man.
