[NERD ROCK] Who better to host a Comic Con after-party than a group going by the moniker Kirby Krackle? “Kirby Krackle has risen through the ranks of nerd rock to emerge as the leader in a new movement of geek-driven musical inspiration,” reads the opening line of the band’s press bio. This epic wording already paints the indie-rock group as its own legion of superheroes, seducing eardrums one well-timed suspender snap at a time. Its followers go by “Krackleheads,” and its annual Seattle event is called “Kracklefest.” The only thing missing is a comic book series to make the movement completely official.
