[LABEL SHOWCASE] Fullerton, Calif.’s Burger Records has been getting a whole lot of love lately for supplying fans with an endless stream of blurry garage rock, most of it on the resurrected medium of cassette tape. Along with Portland’s Gnar Tapes and plenty others, the movement’s grown enough to have had its own national holiday earlier this month. Were you too baked to get off the couch and celebrate? No worries: The Burgerama Caravan of Stars Tour approaches! By way of used Ford Econoline, Burger will import a cavalcade of fledgling upstarts and fuzzed-out bona fides alike. Whether the high ceilings and un-basement-like atmosphere at the Wonder Ballroom will sterilize things or allow the melodies of bands like the Growlers and Cosmonauts leap out from under the groovy busted-speaker vibes remains to be seen, but you’d be foolish to not roll a spliff and coming along for the ride.
