Appointment With gOD

REBECCA JACOBSON
7:30 pm Friday-Saturday and 2 pm Sunday, April 11-13., Friday April 11 | $12-$20.

Boom Arts, known for producing work from abroad, presents a workshop performance of Deborah Asiimwe’s play about a group of Africans applying for U.S. visas. Asiimwe, a Ugandan playwright, sets the work in a U.S. embassy waiting room, where these applicants swap stories and discuss their strategies. She planned on being in Portland for the performance, but in a cruel instance of life imitating art, was herself denied a visa, and will instead participate in post-show conversations via Skype.
