[GLITCH-HOP] When every glitch-hop producer has a propensity for psychedelic dub, Terrence McKenna samples and these, like, really heady fractals on their album covers, it can be hard to set oneself apart. Starfire’s game is the Middle Eastern vibe, with wailing digital ghaitas a-wailing and half-stepping scales. He plays it better than, say, “Walk Like an Egyptian,” but nowhere near the iconic Muslimgauze. We’ll give him credit where credit is due, though: During live performances, he often jumps onto the table, a thin MIDI controller in hand, hair swaying to the sounds of appropriation.

Where: Refuge
Address: 116 SE Yamhill St.
