Tracy Grammer

JEFF ROSENBERG
7 pm., Friday April 25 | $15 advance, $18 day of show. Under 21 permitted with legal guardian.
Alberta Rose Theatre
3000 NE Alberta St.

[SINGER AND NOW SONGWRITER] The late Dave Carter was the sole songwriter in his acclaimed turn-of-the-millennium duo with singer and multi-instrumentalist Tracy Grammer. While Grammer’s kept his masterful work alive since his untimely demise in 2002, with faithful performances and archival releases, she’s also following by example, slowly forging ahead with her own songwriting. She’s taking it so seriously nowadays that she’s signed on for what sounds like the compositional equivalent of PX90 training, an online challenge called Real Women Real Songs, in which she and 21 other artists pen and post to YouTube a tune a week for a full year, working from prompted topics. No dearth of new material for tonight’s set list, then.
