Taste of The Nation

6:30 pm, 5:30 pm VIP., Tuesday April 29 | $85, $150 VIP.
Crystal Ballroom
1332 W Burnside St.

In a long tradition of complete decadence in the name of charity, and meals that fight the hunger of people not currently eating the meal, Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation will roll out for its 27th year at the (bolstered! totally safe! we think!) Crystal Ballroom. Unlike any number of perfunctory 5-percent “charity” dinners, however, this one actually goes entirely to anti-hunger charities locally and elsewhere, from the Oregon Food Bank to Partners for a Hunger Free Oregon. A ridiculous array of luxe restaurants are serving up vittles, including a remarkably good spicy crawfish dish from Boke Bowl. VIPs get extra bits that include latkes from Vitaly Paley and rillettes from the not-even-open-yet Renata. Booze flows likewise very, very freely.

Rob Delaney

Comedy Central has proclaimed him the funniest man on Twitter (“Doughnuts are gay bagels”), but Delaney is pretty funny live, too, with plenty of pathos alongside the outlandish bits.
