JEFF ROSENBERG
8 pm, Wednesday June 25 | $25 advance, $30 day of show. Under 21 permitted with legal guardian.
Aladdin Theater
3017 SE Milwaukie Ave.

[AMERICANA] Fresh off a Grammy win for Best Americana Album for last year's Emmylou Harris duet Old Yellow Moon, Rodney Crowell returns under his own name with Tarpaper Sky. Given that only four of Moon's tunes were penned by Crowell, and that his previous album was written entirely in collaboration with novelist Mary Karr (and performed with a guest cast including Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones and others), Crowell's built up a reserve of strong songs to let loose on his first solo outing in six years. To help air them, he's reconvened the backing band that served him so well on his hit-making 1988 breakthrough album Diamonds & Dirt. Be sure not to miss top-flight opening act Will Kimbrough.
