WIth a master's degree and a job delivering takeout in Portland, Jess is not exactly living the dream, until he finagles his way into a job as a chauffeur for a rising star for the Trail Blazers, Calyph West. Chris Leslie-Hynan's debut novel, Ride Around Shining, could just as easily have been pulled from local headlines. In equal turns hilarious and disturbing, Jess' obsession with the star's life leads to the estrangement of Calyph's marriage and possibly the end of his career.
