Israel Vibration

DAVE CANTOR
8:30 pm, Friday August 15 | $20 advance, $25 day of show.
Alhambra Theatre
4811 SE Hawthorne Blvd.

[ROOTS THEORY] Between 1978 and today, Jamaican vocal group Israel Vibration has crafted a legacy of political and spiritual engagement that rivals anything else from the island nation. Whittled down to a duo since Albert Craig’s departure several years back, Cecil Spence and Lascelle Bulgin issued Reggae Knights in 2010. That latest disc continues to distill a concept of righteous living over sensible updates to roots-reggae backing. It’d be difficult to eclipse the group's early career highlights, like the defining performances on 1980’s Live at Reggae Sunsplash. But the duo defined a path to follow early in its career, and haven’t deviated from it in 35 years.
