[VINTAGE POWERHOUSE] With a Wes Anderson-like aesthetic (the group even had its cover of “Stephanie Says” featured on a tribute album to the director) and powerhouse vocals, Austin's Tele Novella is able to easily drift between the past and the present. With seductive bass lines, quirky lyrics and an eccentric stage presence, the psych-pop quartet has mastered dark and dreamy vibes. Although the group most definitely pays tribute to the classics (a la the Zombies), it still ends up with a sound completely its own.
