Prolific Oregon writer Jane Kirkpatrick has authored more than 25 fiction and non-fiction books. Her newest novel, A Light in the Wilderness, returns to her affinity for historical fiction, telling the story of a freed slave who has lost both her husband and her freedom papers and must struggle to survive in the Oregon Territory.
