[ROCK] Sam Humans has found his calling. The Portland singer-songwriter's other band, Modernstate, could be powerful and rocking and laid-back at any given moment—but it could also be a little too...Sam Humans. An imposing figure onstage, the deep-voiced and bearded Humans is now flanked by two players—bassist Matt Genz and drummer David "Papi" Fimbres—who complement him by matching his musicality and, perhaps more importantly, his onstage intensity. New 10-inch Live Free & Let Loose is an admirable attempt to capture the band's powerful live show on wax, but these guys still have to be seen to be truly appreciated.
