</xml><![endif]-->ʼs nonpareil vocal ensemble sold out three spellbinding concerts of one of the great sacred choral works of the 20th century, Rachmaninoffʼs All-Night Vigil. Now, they follow up with one of the the composerʼs earlier sacred works thatʼs heard much less often: The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. With influences ranging from ancient chant to Tchaikovsky, this sometimes soothing, sometimes passionate 1910 music for the Russian Orthodox analog to the Roman Catholic Mass deserves more attention, and these rare performances in cathedral settings are the ideal way to experience it. Sundayʼs performance is at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (147 NW 19th Ave.).
