Beer Guide 2015: Krauski's Brewskis

Krauski's Brewskis

328 N Main Ave., Gresham, 328-8474, oregonshoppyplace.com. 11 am-9 pm Monday-Thursday, 11 am-10 pm Friday, 9 am-6 pm Sunday.

[NANOSKI] Krauski's is the business name for the brewery inside the Hoppy Brewer, a combination bottle shop-homebrew supply store-taproom-brewery. It's a prime example of how the craft-beer craze has spread to suburbia. This is the kind of place, located in what is best described as revitalized old Gresham, that might even draw inquisitive patrons from the city. If you build it, people may come. The Hoppy Brewer opened in 2010, but the Krauski's part of the operation launched more recently. They brew on a tiny nano system, so don't expect to find more than two or three house beers available at any given time. A barleywine sampled on a recent visit was a little thick, but they brew several well-regarded IPAs. And the guest tap list is loaded with great beers from Oregon and beyond. There's no kitchen here, but patrons are welcome to bring food from one of many nearby eateries.

DRINK THIS: Try the Plunge Triple IPA or the slightly less aggressive Gun Barrel Imperial IPA.
