Deep in the wilds of Oregon City—which is getting wilder by the second, with multiple breweries and a new shopping-mall project augmenting the already nightlife-heavy small town—the Highland Stillhouse reigns supreme over Willamette Falls with the most extensive Scotch selection that you are likely to experience anywhere, including most places in Scotland. The bourbon and Irish list would shame anywhere in Portland short of the Whiskey Library, except that in this multistory beauty of a place, you get absolutely none of the snoot. Take the 33 or 35 bus down there some weekend, and notch off the whiskeys like strikes on your bedpost. There'll soon be nothing left of the bed.

Happy hour: Food specials 3-6 pm Tuesday-Friday.

Entertainment: Live music, TV, crossing off the whiskeys one by one by one.
