Last October, the 13-year reign of Marshall Meadows over this Multnomah Village mainstay came to a merciful end. New owner Steve Potter will look to build on the improvements Meadows ushered in over the years, and despite the old boss' reputation for boorish behavior, at least Renner's metaphorical trains ran on time: The food is good quality bar fare, and Renner's is open and serving Multnomah Village for breakfast as the truly soused are just getting up to puke. The service is mostly attentive. The new boss would be best to let the cozy confines and worn-in MV vibe steer its own path to provincial glory.
