Hales Names Replacements for Fired Campaign Staff

Former City Commissioner Charlie Hales is starting to replace the campaign staff he let go after finishing first in the May 15 mayoral primary. He's named Evyn Mitchell as his campaign manager and Liz Burns as campaign finance director. Mitchell has worked for Senate Democrats, Suzanne Bonamici, the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

The announcement follows news that Hales has added Mark Wiener, a longtime political consultant in Portland, to his campaign. Wiener joins Liz Kaufman, a consultant who worked with Hales during the primary election.
