Poll: Clark County Evenly Split on Columbia River Crossing

A new poll on the Columbia River Crossing was released today and the results are near tie on public opinion toward the CRC, a $3.4 billion Interstate 5 bridge, light rail and highway project.

The Columbian, Clark County's daily paper, commissioned the survey and released the results as part of a three-part series that runs through tomorrow:

The finding of "slim support" runs against what happened last November, when voters in the Southwest Washington county roundly rejected a sales tax to pay for operations and maintenance of a TriMet MAX line through the city's downtown.

The poll, the story continues, was conducted by Portland-based Moore Information and included 400 people from across Clark County, and has an error rate of plus or minus 5 percent. Moore, a prominent Republican pollster, has been dinged recently by liberal site Blue Oregon for skewed results.
