The Last Water Bottle You’ll Ever Buy

No one makes drinking water cooler than Bkr, and it makes a great Mother's Day gift.

As durable as it is pretty. (Amazon)

We should all be drinking more water. Which is expensive if you don't use a refillable bottle. Even when one eventually gets smart, few bottles last for all that long and you find yourself with the backseat of your car filled with empty plastic bottles again. Maybe you use a free metal water bottle from the last conference for a few months, then the old scratched up Nalgene gets thrown in the rotation for a bit.

There are phases to one's attitude towards portable hydration. My metal bottle period came to an end when I impatiently used it for red wine and never got the taste out of it. Then I went through the mineral water phase when I was too cool for refillable bottles. But at the end of the day, nothing tastes better to me than Brita-filtered tap water from my fridge. So I sought out the simplest delivery system for that: a simple, well-made glass water bottle with some sort of anti-shatter casing. I also wanted it to be pretty, because if I liked the look of it, and was more inclined to put it in my purse, I'd drink more water.
My search began and ended with bkr bottles.

My personal fave, “Madly,” a neon cherry red. (Amazon)

The simple design is as aesthetically attractive on your desk as it is functional without frills. The glass bottle is wrapped in a slim silicone cover that comes in several on-trend shades, and all materials are free of BPA or phthalates. The smaller mouth is made for more comfortable sipping, and the width of the bottle fits most cup holders. Most conveniently, you can put it in the top rack of the dishwasher.

I recognize that $38 is a lot to shell out for a water bottle. This cool spiky one is $40. But this is literally something you ought to use every day. And honestly, I do think I’m staying more hydrated. Drinking out of glass is more appealing that any plastic water bottle in the fridges of Plaid Pantry. As far as value goes, I’ve dropped my bkr countless times over the past two years, and it doesn’t look any different than the day I bought it. I like how easy it is to keep it clean, and the silicone hasn’t seen a scratch, much less a tear. The loop cap makes it a quick grab on my way out when I’m not carrying a large purse. As long as you don’t leave it in the freezer or try microwaving it, this bottle will last several years.

If you want to keep the contents icy cold, consider these custom trays for bkr-sized cubes every time.
